McCain has been involved in politics a long time, and naturally some associations don’t always work out. Obama’s short “career” as a community organizer, teacher of legal theory, and political candidate have already resulted in wide array of unsavory characters that I wouldn’t want to have access to the White House front door. McCain, the self-proclaimed deregulator, has lately been trying to paint himself as anti Wall St. Nothing in his life until 10 days ago has supported his "populist" conversion. McCain did not disclose the trips (as he was required to under House rules) until the scandal broke in 1989. At that point, he paid Keating $13,433 for the flights.
McCain, who had been a less aggressive advocate for Mr. Keating than the others, was reprimanded only for “poor judgment” and was re-elected the next year. McCain wanted the auditors to let Lincoln continue making real estate loans without carrying out credit checks, a clear violation of the law. This is also the practice that has led to the current U.S. McCain was severely reprimanded by the Senate for a serious lapse in judgment. Of the Keating 5, McCain was by far the closest to Keating, received the most in campaign contributions, which he never returned, and was given numerous elaborate gifts.

Deng Linlin - the talented young gymnast
Deng Linlin - the final place on the team that was (and well actual still is) hotly contended for. To me Deng Linlin's gymnastics tends to lack a bit of the grace and style that most of the other Chinese gymnasts seem to have, she seems very fearless though - like she's attacking that beam!
Deng LinLin's ability to bring home respectable numbers on VT, BB and FX must have been considered to valuable to ignore, especially since these are strong areas for the USA. Deng Linlin is NOT 16 she looks even younger than He Kexin which is quite funny actually. The Chinese are sporting their usual ugly red crushed velvet type leos with the gold swirl things.

Deng Linlin’s bars and Li Shanshan’s bars both won’t be usable for team finals, but for preliminaries, because Deng as the lead-off gymnast hit her routine successfully, we could do without Li Shanshan going up on bars [as the fifth gymnast].

Falun Gong
Falun Gong is not a religion, although it shares some terminology and concepts with the Buddhist and Taoist religions. Falun Gong does not have any religious rituals or formalities of worship. Falun Gong cases are often handled outside normal legal procedures by a special Ministry of Justice office, known as the 610 office. During the past year, the 610 office was implicated in many allegations of abuse. Falun Gong practitioners strongly denied that the persons could have been actual Falun Gong practitioners, since killing, especially in the form of suicide, is strictly forbidden by the principles of Falun Gong. In addition, some people have suggested that the incident was either a hoax or staged, pointing out several strange clear inconsistencies that is present on the video footage of the incident broadcasted by Xinhua News Agency.
Falun Gong is not a religion and it has nothing to do Lord Buddha. There is therefore no neccessity for Falun Gong disciples to understand the teaching of Buddism. Falun Gong offered to fill both a physical need, through its exercises, and a spiritual need, through its moral teachings. Falun Gong (which, incidentally in Russia consists mostly of ethnically Russian adepts) have been pursuing its own personal vendetta against Chinese government, and has successfully recruited most of human rights.
Falun Gong simply denies science, appeals to venerated Chinese traditions, and uses the fictional face created by founder Li Hongzhi, as well as his also-failed predictions, as a romantic base for acceptance. Falun Gong has now become a major issue affecting China-US relations. The US side should fully realize the harm caused by Falun Gong cult to the general public, including the harm to the people and the society of the US, and respect the position of the Chinese Government in handling the issue. Falun Gong essentially involves a religious life style that includes an elaborate moral and cosmological system, as well as meditational practices based on Qigong. Practitioners stress its positive effects on their health.
Falun Gong publications call the practice "the most remarkable system for the improvement of body, mind and spirit" and claim that the practice is neither religious nor political. Falun Gong is a spiritual or quasi-religious group. China's Communist Party -- which still runs the Chinese government -- banned the group in 1999, and has gone to genocidal lengths to persecute, eradicate, and eliminate the group. Falun Gong’s American presence has not been without controversy. Some local chapters have claimed they were denied admission to Chinese New Year’s parades because of Beijing’s influence over Chinese-American businesses.
